    Changelog

What changed on the site, and why.

    v1.16

    No middleware

A runtime function took the site down on 2 October.

    • Homepage markdown is a file, written at build.
    • The homepage title is set, and trailing slashes are gone.
    • The share image is the one Rob made.

    v1.15

The same site, for an agent

A person and an agent should get the same pages.

    • Markdown for agents, Provius as JSON-LD, and a privacy page.

    v1.14

    A signal for agents

Crawlers should be told what they may do.

    • Content-Signal in robots.txt.
    • Link headers on the homepage.

    v1.13

    About and Provius, rewritten

The old pages were not the story.

    • Both essays replaced.

    v1.12

    About and Provius are files

Those essays should be editable without touching the layout.

    • The copy moved into markdown.

    v1.11

    Location and RSS, small

    Those two lines were shouting.

    • The location and the RSS link use the small size at every width.

    v1.10

RSS, the phone menu, quieter visits

The feed was easy to miss, and the phone header was a row of links.

    • RSS sits on the homepage.
    • The phone gets a full-screen menu.
    • Visited marks are quieter.

    v1.9

    Fetched papers keep their CSS

Opening a sheet from the homepage was dropping its styles.

    • Styles travel with the page.
    • Books, headings and footers tidied.

    v1.8

    Paper on the right

The sheet was drifting, and the books had no frame.

    • The paper docks on the right.
    • Reading covers sit in a wrapper.

    v1.7

    The markdown processor is declared

It was only arriving by accident.

    • @astrojs/markdown-satteri is a real dependency.

    v1.6

    The tab and the preview

A shared link should look like the site.

    • The favicon follows the theme.
    • One share image.

    v1.5

    Projects stay put

Opening a paper was covering the list.

    • The projects column stays readable beside the sheet.

    v4.0

    Hello papers

The type and the sheets are the site now.

    • Tiny Mono, in light, dark and yellow.
    • A paper on the right, not a long scrolling page.

    v1.1

    The site exists

Somewhere to put the work, before worrying about the look.

    • Static pages. Writing and projects live in markdown.
    • Home, about, reading, uses.
